Carol was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc in August. The surgeon at London Community Hospital recommended septoplasty, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $6,000, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $4,150 short.
my mother has been in and out of London Community Hospital since August. The doctors say a herniated spinal disc will get worse without septoplasty. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $6,000 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Carol struggles with daily life and can't drive. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Carol won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
