Beatrix needs septoplasty at Mthatha University Hospital and the family is $2,250 short of the hospital's estimate.

Beatrix was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections in August. The surgeon at Mthatha University Hospital recommended septoplasty, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $3,750, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $2,250 short.
my mother has been in and out of Mthatha University Hospital since August. The doctors say gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without septoplasty. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $3,750 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Beatrix struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Beatrix won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.

• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $1,050

• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $180
• Post-operative medication: $75
• Physiotherapy sessions: $90
