Sebastián lives with a spinal cord injury. The occupational therapist at the Los Angeles Rehabilitation Centre has assessed him and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $9,650. His current equipment is 13 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 8 weeks. With the right equipment Sebastián could speak with the people around him. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $9,650 goes: • Delivery and set-up: $180 • First-year servicing plan: $210 • powered wheelchair: $9,260 Glad we found this place.
