Seattle tornado relief - the Riverside settlement
The tornado damaged 71 homes in the Riverside settlement. We're raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The tornado hit the Riverside settlement on 22 August. My home was one of 71 damaged, and 3 families are still in temporary shelter at the community hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $9,650 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $4,050
• Clean water and purification supplies: $750
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $1,450
• Food parcels for displaced families: $1,050
• Tools and labor for repairs: $2,350
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Good luck, Abril. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. God bless.
wishing you the best, Abril. More neighborhoods should do this. Sent it to 10 people at work.
Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. My neighbor in Gazipur donated after I showed her your page

Sending love, Abril. Hope you get there. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Thinking of Seattle.
