Dar es Salaam
I earned a place in the first year of senior school at Dar es Salaam Science Academy, and I couldn't be prouder. The school has a long list of things I need, including a laptop for the biology course, and a uniform. My mother works two jobs, and the list costs $150, which is more than we have. I love biology and want to become an engineer. A laptop will let me do coursework at home instead of waiting for library hours. I'll take care of everything you give me and I promise to work hard. Items on the list: laptop, uniform, shoes, textbooks, calculator and a bag. Where the $150 goes: • Laptop: $85 • School uniform and shoes: $10 • Textbooks and workbooks: $40 • Calculator, stationery and a school bag: $15 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Hope things get better soon, Mwangi. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My father had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Thinking of Dar es Salaam.
