Rebuilding after the house fire that spread across the block: the Millbrook neighborhood needs your help
After the house fire that spread across the block, families in the Millbrook neighborhood need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.

The house fire that spread across the block hit the Millbrook neighborhood on 14 February. My home was one of 40 damaged, and 2 families are still in temporary shelter at the local school gym.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $6,050 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $1,950
• Clean water and purification supplies: $480
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $600
• Food parcels for displaced families: $1,450
• Tools and labor for repairs: $1,570
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Wishing you peace, Brielle. Looking forward to the next update. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Thinking of Los Angeles.
