School supplies and a laptop for James in Riverside
James won a place at Riverside Technical College but the family can't afford the uniform, books and laptop required.
🇺🇸 Riverside, California, United States2,650 views
I earned a place in the first year of senior school at Riverside Technical College, and I couldn't be prouder. The school has a long list of things I need, including a laptop for the chemistry course, and a uniform.
My mother works two jobs, and the list costs $1,200, which is more than we have.
I love chemistry and want to become an architect. A laptop will let me do coursework at home instead of waiting for library hours.
I'll take care of everything you give me and I promise to work hard.
I'll buy the items from the school's approved supplier and post photos of everything.
Where the $1,200 goes:
• Laptop: $620
• School uniform and shoes: $220
• Textbooks and workbooks: $270
• Calculator, stationery and a school bag: $90
Thanks for reading all this.

Take care, James. Your post was clear and honest. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Love from Athens.
