Zoey, my wife, passed away on 3 September after a sudden heart attack. She was 39 years old. She was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance.
The funeral home has given us a quote of $5,750 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 12 September.
I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Zoey to have a dignified farewell.

Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to a local food bank.

• Cemetery plot and burial fees: $1,700
• Transport of the deceased: $250
