Rui, my brother, passed away on 7 January after a short illness. He was 45 years old. He was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance.
The funeral home has given us a quote of $5,200 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 18 January.
I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Rui to have a dignified farewell.
Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers.
Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to the Colorado Springs hospice.

• Funeral home services and casket: $3,500
• Memorial gathering for the family: $200
• Cemetery plot and burial fees: $1,500
