Maurício, my husband, passed away on 9 April after a long fight with kidney disease. He was 76 years old. He was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance. The funeral home has given us a quote of $1,850 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 19 April. I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Maurício to have a dignified farewell. Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers. Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to the Santos hospice. Where the $1,850 goes: • Funeral home services and casket: $1,300 • Cemetery plot and burial fees: $320 • Transport of the deceased: $120 • Memorial gathering for the family: $110 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
