Ekurhuleni
Lerato, my wife, passed away on 10 August after a sudden heart attack. She was 70 years old. She was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance. The funeral home has given us a quote of $1,300 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 14 August. I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Lerato to have a dignified farewell. Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers. The funds will be paid directly to the funeral home, and I'll share the receipt. Where the $1,300 goes: • Funeral home services and casket: $750 • Cemetery plot and burial fees: $340 • Transport of the deceased: $100 • Memorial gathering for the family: $110 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

  • Sending strength, Tracey. Hope this works out for you. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Blessings.

    • Hope it all works out, Tracey. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. All the best.

      • Sending good thoughts. Looking forward to the next update. Put this on a community board in Lahore this morning.

        • Gave what I could, wish it was more. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Thinking of Ekurhuleni.

          • Sending strength, Tracey. Hope you get there.
