John, my father, passed away on 26 September after a road accident. He was 85 years old. He was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance.
The funeral home has given us a quote of $3,900 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 5 October.
I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want John to have a dignified farewell.
Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers.
Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to a neighborhood youth program.
Where the $3,900 goes:
• Funeral home services and casket: $1,550
• Cemetery plot and burial fees: $1,450
• Transport of the deceased: $350
• Memorial gathering for the family: $550
