Jacob, my grandfather, passed away on 18 September after a long fight with kidney disease. He was 88 years old. He was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance.
The funeral home has given us a quote of $4,750 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 4 October.
I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Jacob to have a dignified farewell.
Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers.
The funds will be paid directly to the funeral home, and I'll share the receipt.
Where the $4,750 goes:
• Cemetery plot and burial fees: $1,850
• Memorial gathering for the family: $250
• Funeral home services and casket: $2,650
