Fernanda, my mother, passed away on 6 July after a short illness. She was 74 years old. She was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance.
The funeral home has given us a quote of $550 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 24 July.
I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Fernanda to have a dignified farewell.
Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers.
Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to the Caruaru hospice.

• Memorial gathering for the family: $105
• Transport of the deceased: $115
• Cemetery plot and burial fees: $330
