Saying goodbye to Babu - help with funeral expenses
Babu passed away on 26 April; we're raising $650 for a respectful funeral in Savar.

Babu, my grandfather, passed away on 26 April after a long fight with kidney disease. He was 92 years old. He was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance.
The funeral home has given us a quote of $650 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 8 May.
I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Babu to have a dignified farewell.
Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers.
Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to the Savar hospice.
Where the $650 goes:
• Transport of the deceased: $70
• Memorial gathering for the family: $30
• Funeral home services and casket: $550

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Sumon.
Sure. The biggest one is transport of the deceased, $70. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one.
