Save Simba: Janet can't afford the emergency vet
A rescue greyhound named Simba needs emergency surgery - a $200 bill the family can't cover.
🇬🇭 Ghana1,102 views
Simba is my rescue greyhound of six years. On 30 July we rushed to the Tema Emergency Vet Clinic with a tumor on the spleen. The vet recommends emergency surgery, and the estimate came to $200.
They have stabilized Simba, but the treatment can't wait beyond November.
Simba is more than a pet - Simba got me through my hardest year. I have already put $55 toward the bills and asked for a payment plan.
Whatever I can't raise, I'll repay to anyone who needs it back.
If more is raised than needed, the surplus goes to the Tema Emergency Vet Clinic's charity fund for other animals.
Where the $200 goes:
• Diagnostics (X-ray, bloodwork): $60
• Medication and follow-up visits: $30
• Hospitalization (2 nights): $110
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Janet
Diagnostics (X-ray, bloodwork) is $60 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Good question.
Hope things get better soon, Janet. Poor Simba, hope they feel better soon. Wish I lived closer to Toronto so I could bring a meal
Shared this with my family. Love from San Francisco.
sending strength, Janet. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Love from Thiruvananthapuram
Take care, Janet. Hope the recovery goes smoothly. I hope November is when things finally get easier. Greetings from Belém
Thinking of you and your family, Janet. It takes guts to ask. Well done. After 14 years in social work I know how hard it's to ask for anything. God bless!
