Save Simba: Horst can't afford the emergency vet
Simba, Horst's three-legged dog, needs urgent treatment for severe tick fever costing $1,250.

Simba is my three-legged dog of nine years. On 6 April we rushed to the Berlin Emergency Vet Clinic with severe tick fever. The vet recommends a hospital stay and surgery, and the estimate came to $1,250.
They have stabilized Simba, but the treatment can't wait beyond June.
Simba is more than a pet - Simba is a retired therapy animal who has comforted dozens of patients. I have already put $310 toward the bills and asked for a payment plan.
Whatever I can't raise, I'll repay to anyone who needs it back.
Funds will be paid straight to the Berlin Emergency Vet Clinic and I'll share the invoice and an update on Simba's recovery.
Where the $1,250 goes:
• Emergency surgery: $550
• Hospitalization (3 nights): $250
• Medication and follow-up visits: $190
• Diagnostics (X-ray, bloodwork): $260
Thank you so much.
Updates from Horst
Thank you all. We're at 63% now ($794). I'm honestly stunned. the first invoice got paid this week.
Good news. Because of your gifts ($437 in total) I met with the vet clinic and confirmed the amounts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
