Save Pepper: Akello can't afford the emergency vet
Pepper, Akello's cat, needs urgent treatment for bloat costing $400.

Pepper is my cat of six years. On 18 February we rushed to Dar es Salaam Veterinary Centre with bloat. The vet recommends a hospital stay and surgery, and the estimate came to $400.
They have stabilized Pepper, but the treatment can't wait beyond June.
Pepper is more than a pet - Pepper walks my kids to the bus stop every morning. I have already put $30 toward the bills and asked for a payment plan.
Whatever I can't raise, I'll repay to anyone who needs it back.
Funds will be paid straight to Dar es Salaam Veterinary Centre and I'll share the invoice and an update on Pepper's recovery.
Where the $400 goes:
• Emergency surgery: $300
• Hospitalization (4 nights): $50
• Medication and follow-up visits: $40
• Diagnostics (X-ray, bloodwork): $10

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. emergency surgery comes first ($300) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid.
