Save Max: Rebecca can't afford the emergency vet
A German shepherd named Max needs orthopedic surgery - a $3,400 bill the family can't cover.

Max is my German shepherd of three years. On 15 April we rushed to Brooklyn Veterinary Centre with kidney failure. The vet recommends orthopedic surgery, and the estimate came to $3,400.
They have stabilized Max, but the treatment can't wait beyond June.
Max is more than a pet - Max is a retired therapy animal who has comforted dozens of patients. I have already put $240 toward the bills and asked for a payment plan.
Whatever I can't raise, I'll repay to anyone who needs it back.
Funds will be paid straight to Brooklyn Veterinary Centre and I'll share the invoice and an update on Max's recovery.
Where the $3,400 goes:
• Emergency surgery: $1,900
• Hospitalization (4 nights): $870
• Medication and follow-up visits: $250
• Diagnostics (X-ray, bloodwork): $380
