Sara was diagnosed with endometriosis requiring surgery in August. The surgeon at Amsterdam Regional Medical Center recommended laparoscopic cyst removal, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $7,750, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $5,350 short.
my daughter has been in and out of Amsterdam Regional Medical Center since August. The doctors say endometriosis requiring surgery will get worse without laparoscopic cyst removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $7,750 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Sara struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Sara won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
