Sara lives with muscular dystrophy. The occupational therapist at the Cairns Rehabilitation Centre has assessed her and recommended a communication tablet with eye tracking. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $4,450. Her current equipment is 13 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 12 weeks. With the right equipment Sara could attend work interviews. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $4,450 goes: • communication tablet with eye tracking: $3,950 • Fitting and training sessions: $135 • Delivery and set-up: $145 • First-year servicing plan: $220 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
