Salim was diagnosed with cervical cancer in June. The oncology team at Dar es Salaam University Hospital has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in September. He will be away from work for about 7 weeks. Salim is 29, worked as a nurse until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Dar es Salaam University Hospital 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
