Salem heatwave relief - the Greenfield neighborhood
The heatwave damaged 60 homes in the Greenfield neighborhood. We're raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The heatwave hit the Greenfield neighborhood on 3 February. My home was one of 60 damaged, and 11 families are still in temporary shelter at the local school gym.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $1,200 goes:
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $115
• Food parcels for displaced families: $260
• Roofing sheets and timber: $825
If you're reading this, thank you.

wishing you peace. This could happen to any of us. Blessings
Wishing you peace. Shared it with a few friends. After 16 years in construction I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Take care.
good luck, Kunal. Shared this with my family. Wish I lived closer to San Diego so I could bring a meal!
Hope things get better soon, Kunal. Shared it with a few friends.
