Saanvi was diagnosed with a hip fracture that never healed properly in June. The surgeon at Saint Anne Hospital recommended emergency hernia repair, and She is scheduled for August. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $12,000, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $7,250 short.
my mother has been in and out of Saint Anne Hospital since June. The doctors say a hip fracture that never healed properly will get worse without emergency hernia repair. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $12,000 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Saanvi struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Saanvi won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
