I make my living with my ride-share car. 10 weeks ago the rear axle failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $1,000. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my family of five. Before the breakdown I worked eleven hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next three months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
All money will go toward the parts and labor on the estimate, with a small amount for road tax and insurance renewal.
Where the $1,000 goes:
• Towing and inspection: $80
• rear axle replacement (parts): $580
• Labor charges: $340
Thank you so much.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Rylee
It's all in the list in the story. towing and inspection is the big one at $80, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Happy to explain more.
Take care. Your post was clear and honest. Sent it to 19 people at work.
Thanks for sharing this, Rylee. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. God bless.
Take care. Hope the shop reopens soon. Love from San Jose.
Keep going. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from Bonny!
hope it all works out, Rylee. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did.
