Ruwini is facing a rare sarcoma and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Ruwini was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in June. The oncology team at Colombo Regional Medical Center has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in September. She will be away from work for about 7 weeks.
Ruwini is 39, worked as a cleaner at a hospital until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Colombo Regional Medical Center 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.

• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $530
• Scans and lab work: $160
• Transport to Colombo Regional Medical Center: $150

Thinking of you and your family. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. After 12 years in retail I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
