Ruth needs a prosthetic leg - help us make it happen
A prosthetic leg would give Ruth independence - we are $4,650 away.
🇦🇺 Ballarat, Victoria, Australia1,479 views
Ruth lives with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. The occupational therapist at the Ballarat Mobility Clinic has assessed her and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $4,650.
Her current equipment is 15 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 6 weeks.
With the right equipment Ruth could join the school sports day. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $4,650 goes:
• prosthetic leg: $3,950
• Fitting and training sessions: $220
• Delivery and set-up: $145
• First-year servicing plan: $335
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
