Runa was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst in June. The surgeon at Saint Joseph Hospital recommended a partial thyroidectomy, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,700, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $1,350 short.
my wife has been in and out of Saint Joseph Hospital since June. The doctors say a large ovarian cyst will get worse without a partial thyroidectomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,700 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Runa struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 10 weeks. During that time Runa won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
