I live with profound hearing loss. My occupational therapist at the Nice Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $4,250. My current equipment is 10 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 3 weeks. With the right equipment I could go to school independently. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $4,250 goes: • cochlear implant processor upgrade: $3,700 • First-year servicing plan: $250 • Fitting and training sessions: $300 Thanks for being kind about this.
