Roberto needs a cutting table and overlocker to reopen a sewing studio
Roberto lost a cutting table and overlocker to a storm that collapsed the roof and needs $1,050 to reopen a sewing studio and support the family.

For twelve years I have run a sewing studio in Duque de Caxias. In September, a storm that collapsed the roof took a cutting table and overlocker. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Saturday, and I employed 1 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 5 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $1,050 goes:
• Replacing a cutting table and overlocker: $650
• Initial stock: fabric: $190
• Shop repairs and licensing: $80
• Working capital for the first month: $130
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
Updates from Roberto
Thank you all. We're at 59% now ($616). I'm honestly stunned. the first invoice got paid this week.
Good news. Because of your gifts ($400 in total) we've started the first stage. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
