I make my living with my tuk-tuk. 5 weeks ago the transmission failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $950. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my family of five. Before the breakdown I worked nine hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next four months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update.
Where the $950 goes:
• transmission replacement (parts): $350
• Labor charges: $250
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $270
• Towing and inspection: $80
Thanks for reading all this.

This could happen to any of us. Wish I lived closer to Dallas so I could bring a meal. Blessings.

Stay strong, Roberta. Small businesses are the heart of Rome. Hope you're open again soon. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Take care.
