Rides to dialysis three times a week for Joaquín in Cartagena
Joaquín needs dialysis three times a week and has lost the ability to drive; volunteer drivers can each take one day.
🇨🇴 Cartagena, Bolívar, Colombia916 views
Joaquín has been on dialysis for 5 years and until recently drove to Cartagena General Hospital alone. After an eyesight problem, Joaquín can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week.
We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 4 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 33 km each way.
Joaquín is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food.
Please say which day works for you in the comments.
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

wishing you the best, Fernanda. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Thinking of Cartagena.
Take care, Fernanda. Shared it with a few friends. My mother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. God bless.
I hope things turn around soon. My neighbor in Greensboro donated after I showed her your page. Thinking of Cartagena
