Ricardo's cataract surgery can't wait - please help us cover the bill
After a hip fracture that never healed properly, Ricardo was cleared for cataract surgery, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Ricardo was diagnosed with a hip fracture that never healed properly in August. The surgeon at Girona Regional Medical Center recommended cataract surgery, and He is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $3,600, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $2,150 short.
my father has been in and out of Girona Regional Medical Center since August. The doctors say a hip fracture that never healed properly will get worse without cataract surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $3,600 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Ricardo struggles with daily life and can't drive. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 12 weeks. During that time Ricardo won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.
Where the $2,150 goes:
• Post-operative medication: $165
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $1,750
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $235
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Take care. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. I'll check back for the next update. God bless.
Wishing you the best, Inés. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Take care.
Shared this with my family. Sent it to 10 people at work.
