Union Creek has been used as an informal dump for years. This August, 95 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 94 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good. We have a plan agreed with the city parks department, including native species selected by a local botanist. The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade. All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials. We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted. Where the $950 goes: • Tools and protective gear: $350 • Native saplings and stakes: $500 • Signage and educational materials: $100 Thanks for reading all this. - Henry

Updates from Henry

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($256 in total) we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  2. Update from Berlin: the plan for tools and protective gear is now scheduled. We're at 15% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

  3. Quick update: $146 raised so far (15%). I made the first payment toward signage and educational materials. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
