Restoring Union Beach: a volunteer-led project in Austin
Help us clean and replant Union Beach before the March planting window closes.
🇺🇸 Austin, Texas, United States724 views
Union Beach has been used as an informal dump for years. This December, 30 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 68 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the city parks department, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $2,050 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $1,250
• Tools and protective gear: $240
• Waste removal and skip hire: $420
• Signage and educational materials: $140
Thanks for reading all this.

so sorry you're going through this. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. We're a small family in Daegu but we're thinking of you. Blessings.
Sending strength, Sneha. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. All the best
