The Union hillside has been used as an informal dump for years. This August, 63 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 67 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good. We have a plan agreed with the city parks department, including native species selected by a local botanist. The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade. All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials. Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage. Where the $2,000 goes: • Native saplings and stakes: $960 • Tools and protective gear: $380 • Waste removal and skip hire: $540 • Signage and educational materials: $120 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support. - Simon

Updates from Simon

  1. Wanted to say thank you properly. 42% funded and I made the first payment toward native saplings and stakes.

  2. Update from Regensburg: the plan for signage and educational materials is now scheduled. We're at 17% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.
