Restoring the Liberty hillside: a volunteer-led project in Dnipro
Volunteers are restoring the Liberty hillside in Dnipro; $400 covers saplings, tools and waste removal.
🇺🇦 Dnipro, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Ukraine474 views
The Liberty hillside has been used as an informal dump for years. This August, 88 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 83 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the city parks department, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $400 goes:
• Signage and educational materials: $35
• Tools and protective gear: $110
• Native saplings and stakes: $255
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

thinking of you and your family, Anna. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did!
Praying for you. More neighborhoods should do this. My husband and I read this together. Greetings from Belém
