Restoring the Harmony wetland: a volunteer-led project in Jodhpur
Volunteers are restoring the Harmony wetland in Jodhpur; $450 covers saplings, tools and waste removal.
🇮🇳 Jodhpur, Rajasthan, IndiaPosted Sep 30, 2026766 views
The Harmony wetland has been used as an informal dump for years. This September, 56 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 65 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the municipal water board, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $450 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $240
• Tools and protective gear: $35
• Waste removal and skip hire: $110
• Signage and educational materials: $65
Thanks for reading all this.

Sending good thoughts, Murugan. Hope you get there. After 13 years in public service I know how hard it is to ask for anything. Blessings
Take care, Murugan. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend.
Rooting for you. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Thinking of Jodhpur.
