Restoring the Harmony wetland: a volunteer-led project in Jakarta
Help us clean and replant the Harmony wetland before the February planting window closes.
Anywhere in the world579 views
The Harmony wetland has been used as an informal dump for years. This November, 62 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 49 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the municipal water board, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $300 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $145
• Tools and protective gear: $80
• Waste removal and skip hire: $75
Glad we found this place.

63% there. I met with the nursery and confirmed the amounts. Thank you.
Thank you all. We're at 40% now ($120). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward waste removal and skip hire.
