The Freedom riverbank has been used as an informal dump for years. This June, 88 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 91 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the district council, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $250 goes:
• Signage and educational materials: $45
• Waste removal and skip hire: $120
• Tools and protective gear: $85
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

sending love. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Take care
So sorry you're going through this. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Please keep us posted. Thinking of Duque de Caxias.
stay strong. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. We're a small family in Berlin but we're thinking of you. All the best
