Restoring the Baobab riverbank: a volunteer-led project in Aurangabad
Volunteers are restoring the Baobab riverbank in Aurangabad; $450 covers saplings, tools and waste removal.
🇮🇳 India2,228 views
The Baobab riverbank has been used as an informal dump for years. This July, 81 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 115 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the city parks department, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $450 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $250
• Tools and protective gear: $55
• Waste removal and skip hire: $125
• Signage and educational materials: $20
Thanks for reading all this.

Take care. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. God bless.
is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Mukesh.
It's all in the list in the story. native saplings and stakes is the big one at $250, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Thanks, that means a lot.
