Freedom Creek has been used as an informal dump for years. This March, 79 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 62 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good. We have a plan agreed with the local forestry office, including native species selected by a local botanist. The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade. All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials. We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted. Where the $1,250 goes: • Signage and educational materials: $100 • Waste removal and skip hire: $710 • Tools and protective gear: $440 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot. - Romain

  • Hang in there, Romain. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My neighbor in San Francisco donated after I showed her your page. All the best.

    • Praying for you. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. All the best.
