I coordinate donations at the Maple Family Centre in Nashville. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled.
We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes kids' 3 to 5 and women's S-L. If you're in Nashville, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at the Maple Family Centre on Saturday between 9am and 2pm.
If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate.
Items go to families directly and the rest to the the Maple Family Centre clothing bank, which is open to everyone.
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

good luck, Brenda. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. After 28 years in accounting I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
