Restoring Freedom Beach: a volunteer-led project in Bangkok
Help us clean and replant Freedom Beach before the September planting window closes.

Freedom Beach has been used as an informal dump for years. This June, 54 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 169 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the city parks department, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $450 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $170
• Waste removal and skip hire: $150
• Tools and protective gear: $130
Thank you for reading my story.

Wishing you the best, Malee. This could happen to any of us. My neighbor in Stockholm donated after I showed her your page. Blessings.
Hope it all works out. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Please keep us posted. All the best
