Resettlement support for 8 people arriving in Lexington
Help a family of 5 start their new life in Lexington: furniture, rent deposit and language classes.

My family left Ethiopia 5 months ago after we were targeted for our work. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Lexington. We're a family of eight and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 2 months of rent, and that support ends in October.
I was a mechanic in Ethiopia, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent).
Where the $4,100 goes:
• Rent deposit and first month: $2,200
• Beds, table and basic furniture: $740
• Winter clothing and school supplies: $620
• Language classes and bus passes: $450
• Phone and internet for school and job search: $90
With deep gratitude,
Alka
