Resettlement support for 7 people arriving in Hialeah
After fleeing Ukraine, the Karimi family has arrived in Hialeah with little more than their documents. They need help with a deposit, furniture and the first months.

My family left Ukraine 9 months ago after we were targeted for our work. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Hialeah. We're a family of six and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 2 months of rent, and that support ends in October.
I was an electrician in Ukraine, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
Funds are managed by a local church-run settlement group, a registered organization, which pays the landlord and suppliers on the family's behalf.
Where the $3,300 goes:
• Phone and internet for school and job search: $230
• Rent deposit and first month: $1,950
• Language classes and bus passes: $380
• Beds, table and basic furniture: $740
With deep gratitude,
Mackenzie

Sending strength. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My husband and I read this together. Thinking of Hialeah.
