Resettlement support for 7 people arriving in Corpus Christi
The Sahin family are rebuilding in Corpus Christi after leaving Somalia; your gift pays for housing basics.

My family left Somalia 13 months ago after the war reached our town. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Corpus Christi. We're a family of eight and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 3 months of rent, and that support ends in May.
I was an engineer in Somalia, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
Funds are managed by the Corpus Christi Welcome Table charity, a registered organization, which pays the landlord and suppliers on the family's behalf.
Where the $4,650 goes:
• Rent deposit and first month: $2,150
• Beds, table and basic furniture: $1,200
• Winter clothing and school supplies: $700
• Language classes and bus passes: $290
• Phone and internet for school and job search: $310
I hope life is good to you.

Sending good thoughts, Emma. Your post was clear and honest. I went through something like this 8 years ago and strangers helped me out. Love from Gdynia
