Resettlement support for 6 people arriving in San Jose
After fleeing Eritrea, the Karimi family has arrived in San Jose with little more than their documents. They need help with a deposit, furniture and the first months.

My family left Eritrea 12 months ago after the war reached our town. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in San Jose. We're a family of four and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 4 months of rent, and that support ends in July.
I was a pharmacist in Eritrea, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
Funds are managed by a local church-run settlement group, a registered organization, which pays the landlord and suppliers on the family's behalf.
Where the $3,900 goes:
• Beds, table and basic furniture: $1,250
• Rent deposit and first month: $2,450
• Phone and internet for school and job search: $200
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Rooting for you, Anthony. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Take care.
Keep going. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Thinking of San Jose.
