Resettlement support for 6 people arriving in Rome
After fleeing Ethiopia, the Hashemi family has arrived in Rome with little more than their documents. They need help with a deposit, furniture and the first months.

My family left Ethiopia 7 months ago after our home was destroyed. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Rome. We're a family of seven and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 2 months of rent, and that support ends in December.
I was a shopkeeper in Ethiopia, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent).
Where the $2,200 goes:
• Rent deposit and first month: $1,000
• Beds, table and basic furniture: $460
• Winter clothing and school supplies: $370
• Language classes and bus passes: $230
• Phone and internet for school and job search: $140
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

The list at the bottom is the whole picture. rent deposit and first month is the biggest at $1,000. I'll keep the page updated.
