Resettlement support for 6 people arriving in Montgomery
After fleeing Venezuela, the Karimi family has arrived in Montgomery with little more than their documents. They need help with a deposit, furniture and the first months.

My family left Venezuela 8 months ago after we could no longer live safely. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Montgomery. We're a family of five and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 4 months of rent, and that support ends in July.
I was a teacher in Venezuela, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent).
Where the $2,400 goes:
• Rent deposit and first month: $1,250
• Beds, table and basic furniture: $900
• Phone and internet for school and job search: $250
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
